Met Gala 2012: Red Carpet Fashion

Fashion fiends enjoyed a delicious live look at the Met Gala’s red carpet from the comfort of their living rooms on Monday, May 7. For the first time, courtesy of Vogue, Amazon.com/Fashion and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, red carpet arrivals of celebrity attendees were streamed live from metmuseum.org from 6:30-8:30 p.m. EST.

As throngs of celebs—from Sarah Jessica Parker to Justin Timberlake—entered the 2012 Met Costume Institute Benefit in celebration of this year’s fashion exhibition, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations,” folks at home experienced the best-and worst-dressed A-listers in real time.

The red carpet show was hosted by model Elettra Wiedemann (daughter of Isabella Rossellini) and Vogue’s William Norwich. The duo did a fair job, but I missed the slick red carpet interviewing styles of Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic. The silliest question of the night came from Norwich who asked Tim Tebow if he prayed before the night’s event. Tebow laughed and said he prays every day, so yeah. The New York Giant should have asked Norwich the same question.

Saddest look of the night: Sarah Jessica Parker’s floral sofa fabric dress by Valentino. Most stunning: Amber Heard wearing Zac Posen. Most bangs: Jessica Biel wearing Prada. Best side boobage: Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada. Most vamp: Lana Del Rey.

As I streamed the red carpet arrivals on my MacBook Pro at home, I stopped to take a quick shower and finished streaming the show on my kitchen countertop as I cooked a dinner of scrambled eggs and turkey bacon for myself and Mr. Sullivan.
